Goodbye, Miss Mini
It is with great sadness that I tell you that Miss Mini has died. She had been fighting liver problems and her arthritis was causing a lot of pain. Then she stopped eating. She had developed pancreatitis, a painful inflammation of the pancreas that also causes vomiting. It is treatable in many cases, but Mini was so sick and weak and fighting pain so the vet and I agreed that her quality of life would be very poor. It was a very difficult decision to let her go.
On the way home from the vet after Mini was euthanized in my arms, I stopped to fill my tire with air. Next to the compressor was a penny. From the year Mini was born. A penny from dog heaven? Mini telling me I'd done the right thing? Maybe. I hope so.
Here are a couple of extra pictures of Mini. Doesn't she look cute? She was going blind as well. This fall she wandered into a leaf pile and wasn't sure which way she should go.
She was getting thin in December when we were treating her liver problems. She needed her christmas jammies to keep warm.
